PRIMES
The adventure of hybridizing bearded Iris began with Primes- basically the iris stock I had on the property- There are 8 primes in total, 4 shown here, four more that will be photographed once they bloom
BEARDED IRIS HYBRIDIZATION
It has taken 3 years from fertilization, to the formation of a seed pod, a winter with 5 weeks of freezing tempertures to break down the iris hard shell seed casing, to sprouting the next year, to bloom this year.. et voila.. a new Iris which I have lovingly named after me Ma. June Elizabeth

AHHH JUNE :)
Difficult to convey the exceptional nature of those days when the garden pulses with life...
The smells, the sound of the wind and the birds,, the intensity of the green, bees and humingbirds..
